Implantation has occured

I had a dream two nights ago, that Frank and I were on a journey across Europe.

At one point, we stopped at this house that had amazing views over lush rolling hills.
The dream was so vivid that I woke up in the morning knowing that it must have a meaning.

Journies: now that one seemed obvious. We just tried for a baby … and I expected that my hopefully fertilized egg turned zygote, turned blastocyst would be implanting that day. Call it instincts, call it a hunch.

Hills: normally, hills can signify obstacles, or in a physical interpretation they can signify boobs, bellies, and bottoms! I recall looking out of a stone window in my dream (almost like the stone window frame in a castle) towards the hills. The hills reached above the level that I was standing at, and I remember smiling at the grandeur and beauty.
If the hills here did signify obstacles, I would say that my reaction to them in the dream was one of anything but dread. I felt invigorated and excited.

Perhaps this also was on the same line as the ‘journey’ portion:
We’re starting down the new path of childbirth/parenthood. There will be many things for us to learn, and there will be many changes to how we currently live … but we both have the strength and the will to overcome anything that we may meet. What is life without challenges?

The chart below shows my temperature this morning, and as 100% expected/predicted, shows the implantation dip yesterday. My temperature had been at 98.2°F for two days, dropped to 98.0°F yesterday, and rose again to 98.2°F this morning.

This would put implantation at day 6 after ovulation, and suggests that if the egg is fertilized and the implantation is healthy, chances of miscarriage are very slim. (I wrote on my ‘Waiting’ post that after day 10, the chances of miscarriage rise above 50%, with an 85% rate after 12 days.)

Of course – just because implanation has occured, doesn’t mean that I’m pregnant.
The egg could not be fertilized … or if it has, the blastocyst could not take to the uterine wall … we’ll just have to wait and see.

The pregnancy hormone HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is produced by the placenta and enters the blood stream as soon as implantation occurs. The concentrations are very small to begin with, but it is normal for them to double approximately every 36 hours.
I wasn’t going to take a test this morning, but expect that I might do tomorrow morning.

I have an appointment with an OBGYN on Monday June 1st, at which point, a blood test will be able to confirm or rule out.
June 1st would be the first day of my next period if I’m not pregnant.
