My blood pressure was 112/60 when I first check it in the very early stages of pregnancy.
We bought a monitor last week, and it was 118/64 when I took the reading.
On Sunday, I suddenly felt really really tired, and lay down for what felt like an unconscious 4-hour nap … at 9am!!
I thought I’d check my pressure again, and it was a rather low 105/58.
I did a bit of research, and for my age, systolic pressures average at 121 with a low or 109 and a high of 133.
Diastolic pressures average at 80 with a low of 76 and a high of 84.
My systolic pressure tend to be in the lower range of ‘normal pressure’, whereas my diastolic pressure are more in the upper limits of low pressure. My diastolic pressure on Sunday was clearly in the ‘too low’ range.
It had been really, really hot here over the last two weeks – hot and humid – ugh.
I was drinking a lot of water, but even then had two spouts of what felt like dehydration headaches.
Low BP is also a symptom of dehydration… so it could be that that’s all it was.
As I write today, my pressure has returned to my normal range … as have the temperatures outside.
Otherwise, things are going well.
I felt possible movement on Sunday for the first time – I sometimes get nerve spasms so I know what those feel like, and this was different.
Frank’s got off the triplet concept … but pointed out that he’s not ruling out the possibility of twins.
My mother had mentioned the possibility that I was one of a pair (the other of which wasn’t a viable pregnancy and ‘dissolved’ into the placenta), so you never know.
In any case, I’m glad to be into the 2nd trimester now … leaving the initials fears of heriditary miscarriage behind me (my mother had two misscarriages in her 1st trimester).
We have an appointment scheduled for the 15th of next month for a detailed 3d ultrasound.
I figured that since we were saving so much on bi-weekly doctors visits, we could enjoy some of the technological advances.
Oh – that first doctors visit where I literally went in, had my weight and blood pressure taken, and had a pregnancy test done, cost $120!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the doctor finally came in, she grunted at my statement that all I was there for was to have her sign off on me being pregnant (requirements for registering a home birth), and then after signing, walked out!
Oh – to be on that salary!!
Imagine that cost multiplied by all the many doctors visits that are advised when a person is pregnant??!!

Seriously!?!? I think you need a new doctor! But then I remembered/read that you were having a home birth, which might explain her attitude, but still!?!?!
I had to have a c-section b/c of my OB’s incopetince, so I’m looking around for a new one now. Not that I can change it now….but….I’ve got my principles! 🙂 LOL
Haha … well, I’m not exactly seeing this doctor on a regular basis.
I’m not too fussed.
The doctor that I’ll be seeing for the 3D ultrasound is a specialist high-risk doctor, so I’ll have some options there should I need an ultimate hospital transfer.
