Eliza has started moving more and more.
Well – maybe she was always moving, but I couldn’t feel her until now.
Unless she’s asleep, she moves a noticable amount more when I play music to her via headphones directed towards her head.
They say that the mother should try to keep talking to the baby to stimulate it, as the sound of the mother’s voice carries better than anything else.
“Read”, they say. “Read anything and everything: Ingredients, receipts, store products, prices”.
I’m not really the talk-to-yourself type gal … so instead, I’ve opted for singing.
I’ve not got a great voice – I wish I did … but I can hold a tune and I can harmonize ad lib, so all is not lost.
Over the weekend or in the evenings, when I’m working around the house, I sing along with the music – whatever it might be , and I sing with the radio on the way to and from work.
I’m not too sure how my colleagues would react if I were to burst into song at 8 in the morning… so I am quiet while at work.
Our friend Mike came over last night to play some pool with Frank, and so I ended up going to bed on my own.
That was the first time I could remember putting myself to sleep by singing nursery rhymes!!
Eliza loved it, or she thought my singing voice sucked… either way, she was having a ball in there.
I could feel her turning, and, presumably, kicking and punching. It still feels like taps because she’s small … but it was a fantastic bonding experience.
I’ve tried to get Frank to feel her kick – but so far he’s had no luck.
Again, the movements are weak – I can feel them more inside than I can outside.
When I feel her kick/punch – I try to push back so that she gets an early understanding of cause and effect.
So the games have begun…
I’m halfway through…
The ‘end’ seems so far away…
